From Pat:
In all my endeavors, I adhere to a statement from Matisse: “What I dream of is an art of balance, purity and serenity, devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter… a soothing, calming influence
on the mind…”

Whether a figurative painting, a geometric abstraction, or a design for a tapestry or mural, my work follows a trusted, intuitive passion for color, pattern, and order. I paint what inspires me and hope that others receive a benefit from encountering my work..

After receiving a Masters Degree in Fine Art from Southern Methodist University, I was commissioned to design interior domes, tapestries, murals, mosaic floors, and ceiling patterns for a magnificent resort hotel in Bophuthatswana, South Africa: The Palace of the Lost City. The imagery of my works related to the African landscape - animals, vegetation, patterns from textiles, and found, painted surfaces.

This extraordinary experience inspired many years of further commissions for designs and paintings for hotels and private clients in South Africa, The Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Korea, Dubai, and the United States.

My work today is a continuing influence from these experiences.
