I am new to the “Artist” community but have been recently recognized as a New Mexico True Artist. I started wood turning about 6 years ago with no thought of becoming a working artist.  I work mostly with local woods and materials.  I do some combined media, wood and resin pieces, using the resin to stabilize and harden cactus and pine cones to allow for functional instruments for the home. All of my work is predominantly created on a lathe. Most of my pieces have functional food safe finishes, but I also occasionally do add ornamentation by carving painting or staining pieces.
