My art journey began when, as a young child I drew life size stick figures on the walls of my farmhouse bedroom. I can still remember the satisfying feeling of pressing a crayon into the wallpaper to make my mark. In spite of this poor choice of drawing surface, my parents continued to encourage my creativity, sending me off for an art degree after high school. Over the years, I still find that moment of kinship from my past to the present moment informing my choices of subject matter, composition, and color.
